If you planned on going to the annual Cruisin’ the Coast rally in Myrtle Beach, then you may want to double check your calendar again. It has been decided that the date is going to be changed to go from May 18th to the 28th. This means that it will be going on during Memorial Day, which is why a lot of people are a little confused because it will be going on during the Atlantic Beach Bikefest. Now many people will have to choose which one they want to attend, when before they were able to go to both of them and not miss out on anything. It isn’t official yet, though. The organizers still have to go to the Horry County officials to get the event approved. The date change has many vendors and local businesses curious how it’s all going to turn out this year, but they shouldn’t worry because everyone knows Harley Davidson fans are loyal customers and they will all come out just as usual.
Harley Davidson is constantly expanding across the globe, and now their newest location is in India. They have become hugely popular throughout India, so it only makes sense to open up a dealership there. The bikes that will be carried are the Iron 883, Street Bob, Fat Boy, Night Rod, Special, and the Street Glide. There will also be other models, but these will be the main ones kept in inventory since they are the most popular. Harley Davidson is particularly popular in Kolkata, and this is why it was chosen to have the main showroom there. The grand opening will begin with a Harley Founders bike ride where everyone who owns a Harley will ride around the streets of Kolkata to celebrate the opening of the new Harley showroom.
You can now help out with the design of the next Harley Davidson motorcycle. Fans of Harley Davidson and
Starting June 1st and going through June 3rd, there is a huge Harley Davidson motorcycle rally planned in Marietta, OH. The plan is to draw 5,000 people to the Thunder Road Madness Motorcycle Rally in order to get visitors drawn to the area and increase tourism for the town. They are hoping it will attract visitors from other cities and states to fill the hotel rooms in the town and give it the jump start it needs to get some exposure for everything Marietta has to offer. There has been a 5 year plan they have figured out to fill all hotels and campsites every year with this event, and hopefully have it grow to be even larger than the initially planned 5,000 tourists. They know that Harley Davidson enthusiasts don’t mind traveling to come to these type of events, and that is why they decided on a huge motorcycle rally, which have become very popular across the United States.
Across the pond in Oxford, UK, a group of normally rough and tough bikers showed their soft side once again this year. They took chocolate and all kinds of goodies to the local hospital’s children’s cancer ward to pass it out to all of the kids. The Harley Owner’s Group rode in together on their yearly ride, which they’ve been doing for the past 8 years, to try and bring a smile to all of the children’s faces. They also passed out a huge amount of toys like coloring books, teddy bears, crayons, and everything else that kids are known to love. It is always a tough time of year for the kids, and that is why the Harley Owner’s Group dedicates so much time to gathering as many toys as possible to pass out each year. So keep this in mind the next time you see a big group of mean-looking bikers going down the road. Don’t always assume they are all big and bad!
If you haven’t, then you definitely need to check out the picture featured in this post. There was an exhibit in Milwaukee recently that featured a Harley Davidson motorcycle that was created with nothing but leather. It was crafted in Japan, along with several other unique designs that date all the way back to the era of the Vietnam War. Some other Harley Davidson designs that were featured at the exhibit were things like rarely seen prototype bikes, and even rocket powered drone missiles. The exhibit was called “Collection X: Weird, Wild Wonders of the Harley-Davidson Museum.” You wouldn’t believe some of the wild and crazy stuff that has been designed over the years, especially things you wouldn’t believe that could have came from Harley Davidson. That doesn’t mean the stuff isn’t cool, though, because it truly shows the imagination of the designers who work at Harley. That must be why they are known for some of the best motorcycles around!
Recently at the Long Beach International Motorcycle Show on December 9th, Harley Davidson revealed the much-anticipated 2012 Victory Hard-Ball motorcycle. To everyone’s surprise, the color scheme was made of almost all black, except for the red hue you could see that came from the pinstripes on the tank and fenders. So, the major features that the 2012 Hard-Ball is basically just a High-Ball with bags in a different color. This doesn’t mean that everyone didn’t like it, though. The whole crowd was captivated by the new, sleek design and they can’t wait for it to become available on the market next year.
If you’re in need of an idea for a great place to ride your Harley Davidson to this holiday season, then maybe you should try Phoenix, Arizona. The weather there is absolutely perfect to ride in because the skies stay clear and allows the sunshine to keep everything warm all year long. The temperature average for the year is 72 degrees, but in the summer it reaches over 100. It’s dry heat though and the humidity stays low, which makes the heat not as bad to tolerate. The sunsets are simply amazing to see, and it is definitely not something you want to miss. There’s nothing better than riding your bike into the sunset, especially when you’re on a Harley.
You may see Santa cruising down the road on a Harley this year instead of seeing him in the sky riding in his sleigh. Santa will be riding with over 500 of his helpers this year through Leesburg, FL for the 8th annual Toy Run in order to collect donations, toys, and bicycles for less-fortunate kids this holiday season. The plan is to collect as many toys as possible so that they can spread them out to all different types of charities who are dedicated to helping kids. This weekend should be perfect for riding because the weather forecast is supposed to be sunny and warm. Last year it got a little cold, but Santa still made the ride because he is used to the cold weather up in the South Pole!
